What is paint protection film (PPF), and how does it work?
PPF is a transparent, durable film engineered to act as a physical barrier between your vehicle’s original paint and road hazards. At Apex, we machine-cut the film to your exact make and model, then install it with precision so chips, road debris, and scratches can’t easily damage your paint.
Absolutely. We exclusively use XPEL PPF to protect your finish from rock chips, scratches and surface damage — all of which can cost a lot more to repair than the PPF itself. More importantly, you maintain your original paint in its best condition, which is especially wise for high-value vehicles or those you keep long-term.
While both serve to protect your vehicle’s surface, they serve slightly different roles: PPF is a physical film applied to your panels to protect against impacts. Ceramic coatings are liquid treatments applied to paint (or PPF) that offer hydrophobic and UV-resistant benefits but don’t absorb impact the way PPF does. Many owners combine both for maximum protection.
A high-quality, expert installation like ours typically lasts 5 to 10 years, depending on care and conditions. We also offer both glossy and matte finishes: the protection is the same, but the look is your choice — whether you want natural shine or a modern non-reflective finish.
When properly installed and removed by professionals, PPF will not harm your vehicle’s original paint.
