Frequently asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about wheel sizes, tire fitment, offsets, and performance options. Learn what works best for your vehicle and how the right setup improves handling, ride quality, and overall style.
Choosing new wheels and tires means more than picking a style. You’ll want to check fitment (bolt pattern, hub bore, offset/backspacing), tire size compatibility, load rating and how the setup will perform on local roads and weather. Upsizing wheels, for instance, can impact ride comfort, handling and speedometer calibration.
It depends. If you’re simply swapping wheels of the same diameter and overall tire footprint, you may keep your existing tires. But if you’re changing wheel diameter or width (plus-sizing) you’ll likely need new tires that fit the new wheel and maintain overall diameter for proper speedometer and handling.
Plus-sizing means increasing the wheel diameter (or width) while maintaining roughly the same overall tire diameter. While it can give a more aggressive stance and handling feel, it can also reduce sidewall height (resulting in harsher ride), increase risk of curb damage/pothole impact, and may affect suspension and speedometer calibration.
When you already have suspension upgrades, fitment tolerance becomes even more critical. We will check clearance, tire/wheel offset, brake upgrades, and how the new setup works with your lift or lowering kit. Without proper matching, you may experience rubbing, alignment issues or compromised ride/handling. We will verify all of the fits during your consultation.
Not automatically—but the quality of parts and the installation matter. High-quality aftermarket wheels/tires that fit properly and are installed professionally tend to preserve value. Poor fitment, cheap components or ignoring OEM specs can lead to wear issues (like tires and bearings) that may reduce resale appeal.
